چکیده

We examined TP53 mutation in 57 patients with myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) at either the MDS phase or at the terminal leukemic phase using polymerase chain reactionmediated single-strand conformation polymorphism (PCRSSCP) analysis. TP53 mutations within exons 5 through 8 were found in seven patients. All these mutations were detected at the presentation of MDS whether these patients showed leukemic transformation or not. TP53 mutations were frequently found in patients with loss of the short arm

RUNX1 DNA-binding mutations and RUNX1-PRDM16 cryptic fusions in BCR-ABL+ leukemias are frequently associated with secondary trisomy 21 and may contribute to clonal evolution and imatinib resistance.

Acquired molecular abnormalities (mutations or chromosomal translocations) of the RUNX1 transcription factor gene are frequent in acute myeloblastic leukemias (AMLs) and in therapy-related myelodysplastic syndromes, but rarely in acute lymphoblastic leukemias (ALLs) and chronic myelogenous leukemias (CMLs). Among 18 BCR-ABL+ leukemias presenting acquired trisomy of chromosome 21, we report a hi...

Inm-4: Genetic Aspects of Male and Female Infertility

Genetic causes can be directly responsible for various clinical conditions of male and female infertility and genetic variability may affect the ability to reproduce. This review aims to summarize current research on genetic diagnosis and genetic causes of reproductive disorders. Chromosome abnormalities account for 60% of all spontaneous abortions, and the most common type, trisomy, is closely...

Leukemic transformation in myelodysplastic syndrome: a review.

The literature was reviewed by us for leukemic transformation in the myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS). The factors reviewed included morphology, karyotype, in vitro cell culture, cellular oncogenes, genetic mutations and cell markers. Karyotypic abnormalities appeared to be most commonly associated with leukemic transformation in MDS. These abnormalities include: (1) Chromosomal abnormalities at ...
